Arrest Made in Webbs Lane Purse Snatching 5-13-14

Update: The Dover Police Department has arrested a 17-year old in connection with the Sunday evening robbery of a female victim on Webbs Lane.  Christopher Sanford of Dover was charged with Criminal Mischief Under $1,000, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Robbery 2nd Degree on Monday, May 12th after surveillance footage from a local establishment captured him in the area  just minutes before the robbery.  Sanford was released to his parents pending a later court date.

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating an early evening purse snatching that occurred in the 400 block of Webbs Lane on Sunday, May 11th.  At approximately 6:50PM, a 44 year old female victim was walking in the area of the 400 Block of Webbs lane, when an unknown black male suspect grabbed the victims purse.  The force used by the suspect, caused the bag to tear and the victims wallet to fall to the ground.  The suspect then picked up the wallet and fled east on Webbs Lane.  The suspect is described as a black male, 6’0″, 140-150 pounds, with a bright orange t-shirt and dark shorts.  The suspect was also accompanied by an unknown black male who was waiting for the suspect, east of the robbery location.  There was no injury to the victim.
