Dover Police to Unveil Medication Return Box
On Wednesday, November 12th at 1pm, the Dover Police Department will hold a small press event to unveil it’s new medication return box. The secured box, located in the Dover Police Department lobby, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the safe and secure disposal of medications no longer needed. The box was given to the department by the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) as part of a program to combat prescription drug abuse, sponsored by Endo Pharmaceuticals and Zogenix. John Ramsey, of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1903 (Dover) was also instrumental in securing the return box for the Dover Police Department. Confirmed attendees include Chief Paul Bernat of the Dover Police Department and City of Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen with invitees including Mr. John Ramsey of the Dover Elks and Dr. Rattay from the Delaware Division of Public Health.
