Narrative: UPDATE: The Gold Alert for Darren Reece was cancelled on August 30th, 2026 after he was located safely and taken for treatment at a nearby hospital.
The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Darren Reece (33) of Dover, DE. Reece was last seen on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at approximately 8:06 P.M. at an acquaintance’s residence in the 1400 Block of McKee Road. Reece has a condition that if not properly treated, may pose a risk to his health and safety. Reece is a white male, 5’9″, 180 pounds, with brown hair, and blue eyes. It is unknown what he was last wearing, but is operating an unregistered gold GMC Yukon SUV. Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred early Friday morning in the area of S. Governors Avenue and W. Reed Street.
At approximately 12:26 a.m. on August 28, 2026, officers responded to the area for a reported robbery. The victim reported that a male suspect approached her and demanded her property while she was on a porch. The suspect struck her in the face and threatened to use a weapon, although the victim did not see one.
The suspect took the victim’s personal property and then entered her vehicle and fled the area. Officers later located the unoccupied vehicle in the area of Clara Street and N. Bradford Street. The vehicle was recovered and is being processed as part of the investigation.
The victim was not injured. Detectives are continuing to investigate and are working to identify the suspect.

Narrative: On August 14, 2026, at approximately 1:02 a.m., an officer with the Dover Police Department Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of North Dupont Highway and Rustic Lane after observing a vehicle being operated without headlights and tail lights.
During the traffic stop, officers instructed both occupants to exit the vehicle. While the driver complied, the passenger refused to exit. Officers attempted to remove the passenger from the vehicle, at which time he attempted to flee through the front driver-side door. After a brief struggle, officers were able to take the passenger into custody.
The passenger was identified as Rufus Evans, 39. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a Romarm/Cugir Draco 7.62×39 pistol with a magazine containing various cartridges from the front passenger-seat area.
Evans was determined to be a person prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Evans was arrested and charged with:

Obstruction of Justice
Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – 2 counts
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
Resisting Arrest
Out-of-State Fugitive
The driver was identified as Nassir Evans, 29.
Bond was pending at the time of release. A mugshot was not available at the time of release.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with the December 24, 2024 shooting that resulted in the death of 14-year-old Juwan Walker.
The shooting occurred on Christmas Eve on Willis Road, north of North Little Creek Road. Walker was initially transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus and later flown to a New Castle County hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries on December 27, 2024. The Dover Police Department continued its investigation into Walker’s death and, on August 10, 2026, obtained an arrest warrant for the 16-year-old suspect.
On August 13, 2026, the suspect was taken into custody without incident at his residence in Pennsylvania by members of the United States Marshals (USMS) Middle PA/Harrisburg Fugitive Task Force (MDPATF) and First State Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from Dover Police detectives.
Upon his extradition to Delaware, the 16-year-old male will be charged with:
Murder Second Degree
Conspiracy First Degree
Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Under 18
Possession of Ammunition by a Person Under 18
This is the third arrest in connection with Walker’s homicide. On December 28, 2024, Dover Police arrested a 15-year-old male and a 13-year-old male, both of Dover, in connection with the shooting. Read the December 28, 2024 arrest release
The original investigation began after Dover Police responded to a report of a shooting on December 24, 2024, in which Walker was struck while sitting inside a parked vehicle. Read the original December 25, 2024 shooting release
Consistent with State law, the Dover Police Department does not release the names or photographs of juveniles charged with violent felonies when the release of their identity is not necessary to protect public safety.

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department has identified the remains discovered on August 4, 2026, near West North Street and Banning Street as Tiffany Pendexter, 37, of Dover.
Pendexter’s remains were discovered by a grounds maintenance worker in an overgrown area near a retention pond. The area had not been maintained for approximately 13 months. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, investigators were initially limited in the information that could be obtained regarding the identity and circumstances surrounding the death.
At this time, there are no obvious signs of foul play, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community.
The Delaware Division of Forensic Science’s Medical Examiner Unit is continuing its examination. The Dover Police Department is awaiting the results of that examination and does not have any additional information regarding the cause or manner of death at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released when it becomes available and can be appropriately shared.
