Third Arrest Made in 2024 Christmas Eve Homicide 8-14-26

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with the December 24, 2024 shooting that resulted in the death of 14-year-old Juwan Walker.
The shooting occurred on Christmas Eve on Willis Road, north of North Little Creek Road. Walker was initially transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus and later flown to a New Castle County hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries on December 27, 2024. The Dover Police Department continued its investigation into Walker’s death and, on August 10, 2026, obtained an arrest warrant for the 16-year-old suspect.
On August 13, 2026, the suspect was taken into custody without incident at his residence in Pennsylvania by members of the United States Marshals (USMS) Middle PA/Harrisburg Fugitive Task Force (MDPATF) and First State Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from Dover Police detectives.
Upon his extradition to Delaware, the 16-year-old male will be charged with:
- Murder Second Degree
- Conspiracy First Degree
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Under 18
- Possession of Ammunition by a Person Under 18
This is the third arrest in connection with Walker’s homicide. On December 28, 2024, Dover Police arrested a 15-year-old male and a 13-year-old male, both of Dover, in connection with the shooting. Read the December 28, 2024 arrest release

Consistent with State law, the Dover Police Department does not release the names or photographs of juveniles charged with violent felonies when the release of their identity is not necessary to protect public safety.
