Man Arrested in Burglary After Attempting to Sell Items in Parking Lot of Dover Shopping Center 7-21-14

Narrative:
A Dover man was arrested early Monday morning after he broke into a residence in the 400 block of South Governors Avenue.  Deon Brown (47) broke out a rear window to a residence in that area and stole several items including a laptop computer, a safe with an undisclosed amount of cash, and jewelry.  Dover police officers shortly after the burglary call by a person who observed Brown in the parking lot of Courtney Square shopping Center on South New Street, attempting to sell the items stolen from the burglary.  Police responded to the area immediately and Brown threw the items into a dumpster in an attempt to elude Dover officers.  Brown was taken into custody without incident and the majority of the items were recovered and returned back to the original owner.  Deon Brown was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $3600.00 secured bond.
