Arrest Made in August 31st Willis Road Shooting 9-22-20

UPDATE: 
The Dover Police Department charged a 17-year-old in connection with the August 31st shooting on Willis Road (see below).  The suspect in this case was in custody at Stevenson House after being charged in a domestic related shooting in the same area.   It was later learned that a 26-yard-old male suffered a graze wound to his arm from the incident.  Upon further investigation, detectives identified the suspect and he was charged with the following offenses and remains in custody at Stevenson House at this time:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Assault 2nd Degree
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

Summary: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday evening in the 100 Block of Willis Road.  Officers responded to the area at approximately 6:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival, they located two men who stated that they were walking in area when someone fired multiple shots at them from the rear of an apartment building in the 100 Block of Willis Road.  Officers did locate shell casings in the area where the shots were fired from.  No injuries or damage was reported.  The two men left the scene refusing to speak with detectives and failed to appear for an interview when contacted by phone.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.  Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
