Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that wounded a 19-year-old male on Saturday night.  At approximately 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the Unit Block of Willis Road for a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers observed approximately 40 people in the roadway.  After securing the scene, officers located shell casings in the area but no victims were present.  A short time later, officers were notified that a 19-year-old male was dropped off at Bayhealth Kent Campus Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to the thigh and hand.

The victim told detectives that he was walking in the area of S. Little Creek Road and Barrister Place when he was shot by an unknown person and could not provide if they were on foot or in a vehicle or any other details.  Officers responded to the area of S. Little Creek Road and could not locate any evidence suggesting the incident occurred there.  There were no calls taken for any incidents in that area either.  The victim was being treated for his injuries and expected to be released by Bayhealth.
