The Dover Police Department charged a 48-year-old Dover man with three offenses stemming from an incident at the Holiday Inn Express on Wednesday afternoon. Kenneth Hutchinson and a female victim were staying at the hotel in separate rooms as part of a work related assignment.
During the day, the female victim and Hutchinson agreed to have a meal together in her hotel room. At approximately 5:00 p.m., the female victim advise Hutchinson that she was going to get a shower and meet with her significant other. While in the shower, Hutchinson entered the bathroom and pulled back the shower curtain, exposing the female victim. Hutchinson then made several sexual comments and advances to the victim. When the victim refused, Hutchinson made threats of sexual acts towards her. The victim exited the shower and attempted to exit the bathroom, but Hutchinson stood in the doorway and pushed her back in, restraining the victim to the bathroom. The female victim then began shoving Hutchinson and create enough space to allow her to close and lock the bathroom door and call a friend for assistance.
The female victim contacted the Dover Police Department and a warrant was obtained for Hutchinson for the following offenses:
On Thursday, November 5th, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Hutchinson turned himself in at the Dover Police Department. He was released on an O.R. Bond on the above charges.
