Dover Police Department Obtains Advanced CALEA Accreditation

The Dover Police Department is pleased to announce that it has obtained re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., (CALEA®). following a November 2021 inspection.  The purpose of CALEA’s Accreditation Programs is to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by: maintaining a body of standards, developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives; establishing and administering an accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence. The body of standards were developed using source materials voluntarily submitted by pre-existing state programs and by many state and local law enforcement agencies nationwide.
