Man Robbed After Attempting to Purchase Marijuana 12-15-14

Location: Heritage Drive/Hamlet Shopping Center, Dover, DE
Narrative:
An attempt to purchase marijuana led to the attempted robbery and shots fired on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred when a 43-year-old male victim approached two young black males in the parking lot of The Hamlet Shopping Center and inquired about purchasing marijuana. When the victim and suspects were unable to make a transaction, the victim walked away towards Heritage Drive. One of the suspects caught up to the victim and attempted to rob the victim of his money with a handgun. A struggle over the handgun ensued and the victim broke free and fled. As he fled, the suspect fired two shots at the victim. One of the shots went through the rear of the victims coat and shirt and exited the front without striking the victim. The suspects were described as black males in their late teens/early twenties. The suspect with the handgun was described as being 6’00”, average build, with an orange or red hooded sweatshirt under a dark jacket with bright blue shoes.
