Narrative:
The Dover Police Department arrested Tyree Smith (23) on robbery charges after he robbed a delivery person. On Thursday, at approximately 8:50PM, a 33-year-old female food delivery driver, was sitting in her vehicle after completing a delivery to the Capital Inn at 1426 N. DuPont Highway when Smith approached her vehicle. Smith opened the driver’s door and threatened her if she did give him money. The victim complied and the suspect fled the area in a nearby vehicle. The victim followed the suspect and was able to get a tag number while notifying police. Dover police officers located the suspect vehicle on Water Street a short time later and took the suspect into custody without incident. Smith was also wanted by Harrington Police for robbery charges, Delaware State Police Troop 3 for burglary charges, and Troop 9 for theft. Smith was committed to JTVCC in default of $28,500 secured bond and was charged with one count of Robbery 2nd Degree by the Dover Police Department.
