Brooklyn, NY Man Charged with Robbery at Macy’s 9-18-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested a New York man on robbery charges after he and a second unknown suspect attempted to steal $2,825 in clothing items from Macy’s at the Dover Mall.  At approximately 4:38PM on Tuesday, September 17th, Joel Cordero and another male suspect were confronted by store security after exiting the store with the merchandise.  The suspects fought with the victim, causing minor injuries to the employee.  The unidentified suspect fled in a white Lexus with two other subjects inside the vehicle.  Cordero was apprehended and all of the merchandise was recovered.  

It was later learned that Cordero was also wanted out of New Jersey on similar charges.

Cordero was committed to SCI on a $5,500 bond on the new charges and is also being held on a “Fugitive from Another State” charge for his warrants in New Jersey.
Cordero was charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Assault 3rd Degree for the September 17th incident in Dover.
