Suspect Arrested in Super 8 Motel Homicide

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred at the Super 8 motel on Tuesday evening.  At approximately 9:04 p.m. on August 31st, officer’s responded the motel after receiving a 911 call from a 57-year-old female that she was stabbed.  When officer’s arrived they located the woman and she was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus by ambulance with a single stab wound to her neck.  The woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after.  David Washington (21) was contacted at the scene and the investigation revealed that he was responsible for the stabbing.  Washington was taken into custody and transported to the Dover Police Department.  Washington was committed to SCI on a $1,900,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Murder 1st Degree
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony

The name of the victim is not being released until next of kin has been notified.
