Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating two burglaries that occurred on Sunday morning. Officers responded to the King Buffet, located at 293 N. DuPont Highway, at approximately 8:56 a.m. for a report of a burglary. When officers arrived, a cash register was seen hanging from a broken window. Video surveillance showed a skinny male suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt, gloves, face mask, a hat, and possibly jeans when he forced entry into the business.
At 9:55 a.m., officers responded to the Friendly’s restaurant at 318 N. DuPont Highway, and across the street from the King Buffet for a report of a burglary. Arriving officers located a broken window in the walk-up service area. Once the suspect was inside, they forced open a safe and removed the contents, including an undisclosed amount of cash. Video surveillance showed the the suspect used a hammer to break the glass and gain entry into business. The suspect was wearing dark jeans, black Nike hooded sweatshirt, hat, gloves, and a face mask.
