Narrative:
On Saturday, September 4th, 2021 at approximately 0618 hours, Dover Police responded to the Wawa convenience store on Forrest Avenue for a robbery. Responding officers viewed video surveillance of the incident which showed a white male suspect arrive in a Silver Chevrolet Silverado, enter the store with his own bag (light green in color) and proceeds to the register area.
While the suspect is at this location, he places approximately 20 breakfast sandwiches into the bag and walked toward the exit door. A male employee stood in the doorway to the entry/exit door of the store in attempt to prevent the suspect from stealing the items from Wawa. During the course of this action, the W/M suspect uses his body weight/mass to “bull rush” and knock the employee down to the ground to successfully steal the items from the store.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
