Arrest Made in Kirkland’s Robbery 10-21-2019
UPDATE:
The Dover Police Department has arrested Derrick Jackson (59) for the robbery that occurred at Kirkland’s home store on Tuesday, October 15th. Jackson was developed as a suspect during the investigation and was located on Friday, October 18th at the Kent Budget Inn, where he was staying. Jackson was arrested as he exited his hotel room without incident. At the time of his arrest, Jackson was wearing the same jacket he was seen wearing in surveillance footage from the Kirkland’s robbery. Jackson was committed to SCI on a $20,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Robbery 1st Degree
-Wearing a Disguise During Commission of a Felony

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is seeking the identity of a robbery suspect from an incident at Kirkland’s home store on Tuesday night. At approximately 8:59PM, officers responded to Kirkland’s for an armed robbery. It was learned that prior to the robbery, store employees found an unknown black male suspect in the stockroom. The suspect was escorted out by store employees at that time. The suspect then returned wearing a clown mask and had his hand in a bag as if he were armed an demanded cash from the employees. The employees complied and the suspect then locked the employees in a back room and told them to wait fifteen minutes before contacting police. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
